Arthur Ray Robison, age 91, died Monday, August 24, 2009 at his home in Overton, Nevada. He was born October 7, 1917 in Overton, Nevada to Joseph Benjamin and Mildred Andersen Robison. On May 20, 1940 he married Barbara Nay in Las Vegas, Nevada. They were later sealed in the St. George LDS Temple. She preceded him in death on November 26, 2006.
Ray lived his whole life in Overton. As a young man, he and his dad bought land in Overton to start a farm. Later this farm transformed into the Ray Robison and Sons Dairy Farm. He worked this farm with his sons until 1980. He served as the last Bishop of the Overton Ward and as it was split as the first Bishop of the Overton 1st Ward, he served for a total of six years. He served as an ordinance worker in both the St. George and Las Vegas Temples. He and his wife served in the Nashville Tennessee Mission. He will be remembered as a hard working, self reliant, generous husband, father and grandfather.
Survivors include three sons and one daughter: Calvin (JoAnn) of St. George, UT; Ben (Kay) of Overton, NV; James (Larene) of Overton; Nancy (Ken) Staton of Overton; 25 grandchildren; 65 great grandchildren and one sister, Shirley Bullard of Grants Pass, OR. He was preceded in death by one daughter, Janet Quirarte and one grandson, BJ Robison.
Funeral services will be Saturday, August 29, 2009 at 10 a.m. at the Overton LDS 1st Ward Chapel. Visitation will be Friday, August 28, 2009 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Moapa Valley Mortuary and again one hour prior to services at the Chapel.
