Arthur Corten
Arthur Lee Corten, age 81, of Mesquite, Nevada passed away at his home on February 5, 2010. He was born on January 1, 1929 in Pike County, Indiana, to Lee Roy and Tennis Marie Ellis Corten. He grew up in Indiana and graduated from Shelby High School in Shelby, Indiana. After high school he joined the United States Navy where he worked as an Electronic Technician and eventually became Master Chief . Arthur served his country for 20 years before retiring and going to work for General Electric . In 2000 he moved to Mesquite. Arthur was a good bowler and played in two bowling leagues. He was a collector of stamps and coins.
He is survived by his significant other of 28 years Phyllis Margolis of Mesquite, Nevada, a daughter Polly (James) Corten Mayo of Denver, Colorado, a son Mathew Corten of Las Vegas, Nevada, two sisters Norma June Mordell, Adrian Manno, and a brother James Austin Corten. He is preceded in death by two sisters Mona Corten Cross and Georgia Corten Cihlar.
