Arnold Joseph Hannig

June 15, 1936 — May 29, 2013

Arnold Joseph Hannig, age 96, died Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at his home in Logandale, Nevada. He was born November 25, 1916 to Joseph Arnold and Sopha Prince Hannig in Washington, Utah. On June 15, 1936 he married Myrle Louise Leavitt in Washington, Utah. They were sealed May 10, 1959 in the St. George LDS Temple.

Arnold grew up in Washington, Utah. His family moved to the Moapa Valley in 1944. He worked for over 55 years as an operating engineer. He worked many years at the LDS Stake campground on Kolob Mountain and he enjoyed his associations with the people there. He loved being a cowboy, working and riding horses throughout his life. He also loved his grandchildren and being with family. He was a great story teller and will be missed.

Survivors include his wife of 76 years, Myrle of Logandale; one son and two daughters: Jerry (Katherine) of Logandale, NV: El Rae Rasmussen of Las Vegas, NV; Peggy (Charles) Ross of Spring City, UT; 11 grandchildren; 34 great grandchildren; 8 great great grandchildren; two brothers and four sisters: Glenna Reber of Cedar City, UT; Warren (Susan) of St. George, UT; Karen Leslie of St. George, UT; Cleo (Doyle) Ballard of Redding, CA; Arlene Stanworth of Hurricane, UT and Verden (Joyce) of St. George, UT. He was preceded in death by one brother, three sisters and one granddaughter, Ronda Lyn Robison.

Funeral services will be Saturday, June 1, 2013 at 11 a.m. at the Logandale LDS Stake Center. Visitation will be Friday, May 31, 2013 from 6 - 8 p.m. at the Moapa Valley Mortuary and again from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel.
