Anthony "Tony" Richard Zappa, age 38, died Sunday, August 27, 2017 at his home in Overton, Nevada. He was born April 18, 1979 in St. Louis Park, Minnesota to Ronald Martin and Susan Marie Lange Zappa. On April 30, 2007 he married Danielle Lynn Sweet in Mesquite, Nevada.
Tony grew up in Maple Grove, Minnesota where he played basketball and graduated from Totino- Grace High School. He loved learning and started his college career at North Hennepin College and later attended St. Leo College. He joined the Army Reserve and served multiple tours in Iraq and was honorably discharged. After relocating to Overton, Nevada, he continued his education at UNLV where he was a member of the National Honor Society. His goal was to attend Law School, with the hope to help those unable to help themselves. His hobbies included many outdoor activities; ATV rides, taking the dogs to the reservoir, keeping his dogs active with doggy play dates, detailing his vehicles and restoring old motorcycles.
He loved his family, his friends, his country and his dogs (America and Patriot). Those who knew Tony loved him. He was self-less and kind, helping others brought him joy.
Survivors include his wife, Danielle of Overton; a daughter, Porsche of Henderson, NV; parents, Ron and Sue Zappa; sister, Kristine Lampson and niece, Laney Lampson all of Maple Grove, MN; father and mother in law, Daniel and Martha Sweet; sister in law, Cathy Probst, brother in law Rod Probst, nieces, Kimmie and Nikki Probst all of Overton, NV and many aunts, uncles and cousins.
Funeral services will be Friday, September 1, 2017 at 2 p.m. at the Overton 3rd Ward Chapel. Visitation will be from 12:30 - 1:30 p.m. prior to services at the chapel. Friends and family are invited to sign our online guest book at www.moapavalleymortuary.com
