Annita Wittwer

April 12, 1938 — October 17, 2012

Mesquite, NV- Annita Russell Wittwer, 74, passed away peacefully at home Wednesday, October 17, 2012. She was born April 12, 1938 in Hurricane, Utah to Ellis and Estelle Roundy Russell. She married Harold Edwin Wittwer on May 30, 1956 in the St. George Temple.

Her early years were spent in Hurricane, Utah then in Mills, Utah, where she graduated from Juab High School. She was a lifelong member of the LDS church and served faithfully in the Primary. Nita was a hair dresser, homemaker, and wonderful seamstress. Learning to sew at a very young age, she made beautiful dresses and quilts. She suffered from Parkinson's disease and was fortunate to have her loving husband care for her these past years. Together they spent many days at their ranch in Acoma, Nevada where she was comfortable and could rest. She had a tender heart and was emotional on all occasions whether happy or sad.

She is survived by her husband Harold; children, Don Wittwer, Connie (Jonathan) Jensen, Boyd (Penny) Wittwer, Bradley Wittwer, Curtis (Tanisha) Wittwer; grandchildren, Daniel, Stefanie, Naomi, Dustin, Colby, Vanessa, Jason, Cameron and Taylor; 8 great- grandchildren; sisters, Lucille Hughes, Zona Jensen, Rayola (Lanis) Alligood and Bruce Russell. Preceded in death by parents, sister Linda, brothers; Collins, Lora and Dale.

Funeral services will be Saturday, October 20, 2012 at the Whipple LDS Chapel at 11:00 am. Friends may call Friday, October 19, 2012 from 6:00-8:00 pm at the Chapel or Saturday prior to the service at 9:30 am. Interment will be at the Bunkerville Cemetery under the direction of Virgin Valley Mortuary, 320 E. Old Mill Road, Mesquite, NV.
