Annette Carney Douglas

April 12, 1961 — August 8, 2016

Annette Carney Douglas passed away peacefully with her family by her side on August 8, 2016 at her home in Mesquite, NV. She was born April 12, 1961 in California to William and Amy Carney. Annette graduated from Bassett High School in 1979. In 1989 she married the love of her life and best friend, Kelly Ross Douglas in Mesquite, NV, who left her side on December 15, 1998 to wait for her in heaven. Together they would spend time in the beautiful surroundings of nature and just loved to be in each other's company. They had a son, Roy who passed in 1989 and then had a beautiful daughter, Amy Lou. Annette lived in Bassett, CA, Mesquite, NV. She was a very "go-to" woman with an outgoing and funny personality. She was very giving and simple and loved to be with friends and family and she had a very strong love for all of her nieces and nephews. She was always willing to help anyone in need. Annette loved music and would often just drive around Whittier Blvd, CA with Gloria and friends to listen to oldies on the radio. She is survived by her daughter, Amy Lou Carney Douglas, Mesquite, NV; sister Victoria Carney, Mesquite, NV; brother Ed Carney, Fontana, CA; sister Gloria Arenas, Bassett, CA. She was preceded in death by her father William Carney; her mother Amy Gomez; husband Kelly Ross Douglas; brother Frank Reyes; and bother Robert Carney; and son Roy Carney Douglas. The family wishes to express a special thank you to all those who helped care for Annette during her time of need, especially the Mesa View Hospice team as well as friends and family. The family also invites you to leave a message or memory of Annette on their "Guest Book" at www.virginvalleymortuary.com.
