Anna Frances (Hunt) Acosta

June 20, 1931 — January 27, 2020

Mesquite

Anna Frances Acosta, age 88, died Monday, January 27, 2020 in St. George, Utah.  She was born June 20, 1931 in Burn City, Indiana to Roscoe Hunt and Lora Frances Smith Hunt.  On October 6, 1951, she married Walter Phillip Acosta in Los Angeles, CA.  He preceded her in death in June, 2006.
Anna grew up in Indiana.  After her marriage to Walter, they lived in West Covina, California, until relocating to San Diego in 1960. She worked as a city clerk in local government.  Anna enjoyed coin and stamp collecting, but her passion was  reading.  In later years she devoted much of her time to genealogy and family history.  She had the voice and was a devout Christian.  She will be remembered for her intellect, her appetite for learning and for her love of others.  Before her passing, her son, Paul, shared with her, and siblings; Mark and Becky wholeheartedly agreed: When he looked at the sky; he saw her blue eyes, when he heard a choir; he heard her voice, when he felt the sun; it was her warm embrace. This was the essence of Anna.
Survivors include two sons and one daughter: Mark (Martha) of San Diego, CA; Paul (Laurel) of Poway, CA; Rebecca (David Keil) Amantea of Mesquite, NV; seven grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren and one sister, Vivian (Kelley) Maxwell of Ft. Worth, TX.
Interment of her ashes will take place in the spring in the Fort Rosecrans National Cemetery in San Diego, California.  Her ashes will be interred with her husband.  Friends and family are invited to sign our online guest book at www.virginvalleymortuary.com
