Angel Serafin Alvarez, age 15, died Friday, December 29, 2023 in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born September 9, 2008 in St. George, Utah to Jaime Guzman and Robyn Amber Jake Alvarez. He was a member of Indian Peaks Band of the Paiute Indian Tribe of Utah.
Angel was a soft spoken, sweet young man. He grew up in Cedar City, Utah before attending school at Skull Valley near Tooele, Utah. At age 10, his parents passed away and he moved to Las Vegas to live with his aunt and uncle, Kenny and Susan Eswonia-Anderson. Angel enjoyed playing video games and Pokemon. He enjoyed basketball and football, especially the Las Vegas Raiders.
Angel was preceded in death by his parents Jaime Alvarez and Robyn Jake-Moon. He is survived by one brother, Sidney Jake of Cedar City, UT; his Uncle and Aunt, Kenny and Susan Anderson of Las Vegas; Aunt Jeanine Borchardt and family and Aunt Anthonia Jake and family, all of Cedar City, UT, along with many other aunts, uncles, and cousins.
A Traditional Indian Sing will be celebrated in his honor on Friday, January 5, 2024 starting at 5 p.m. (MST) at the Cedar City Paiute Tribal Building,
Cedar City, Utah. Interment will take place Saturday, January 6, 2024 in the Cedar City Cemetery. Friends and family are invited to sign our online guest book for Moapa Valley Mortuary at www.moapavalleymortuary.com and for Southern Utah Mortuary at www.mortuary.org.
