Anastacio Huerta, age 77, died Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Valley Hospital in Las Vegas, Nevada. He was born January 25, 1934 in Villa Nueva, Zacatecas, Mexico to Salvador and Concepcion Huerta. On April 10, 1972 he married Sylvia Zubia in Overton, Nevada. They were then sealed in the Las Vegas Temple on January 21, 1995. Anastacio grew up in Mexico, moving to the US in his early 20's. He started working at the Moapa Dairy in 1963 and later for the Union Pacific railroad, where he worked for over 15 years. He loved raising all kinds of farm animals and especially enjoyed raising horses. He love to fish and spend time with family. He was a very faithful member of the LDS church and he loved serving as an ordinance worker in the temple. Survivors include his wife, Sylvia; three sons and two daughters: Tony Zubia of Bremerton, WA; Ramon Lester of Las Vegas, NV; Veronica of Louisiana; Francisco of Tijuana, MX; Bertha Campbell of Logandale, NV; 14 Grandchildren; 5 Great grandchildren; five brothers and three sisters: Antonia Avila of Moapa, NV; Irene Macias of Mesquite, NV; Sidronio Huerta of Moapa, NV; Marguerite Delgado and Marina Munoz both of Mesquite, NV; Alejandrina Ramirez and Juvenile Huerta both of Moapa, NV and Jaime Macias of Overton, NV. He was preceded in death by one son, Salvador (Chavo) Huerta whom died in 1994. Funeral services will be Saturday, November 19, 2011 at 11 a.m. at the Moapa LDS Chapel. Visitation will be Friday, November 18, 2011 from 6 - 8 p.m. at Moapa Valley Mortuary and again Saturday from 9:30 - 10:30 a.m. prior to services at the chapel. Interment will follow in the Warm Springs Cemetery under the direction of Moapa Valley Mortuary, 702 398-3600.
