Alma Raoul Leavitt
Alma Raoul Leavitt, age 75, died Sunday, December 3, 2017 at St. Rose Dominican Hospital in Henderson, Nevada. He was born March 27, 1942 in Las Vegas to Raoul Orange and Ruth Robison Leavitt. He married Tresa Bowler on August 5, 1960 in Logandale and they were sealed in the St. George, Utah LDS Temple the following year.
Raoul was raised in Overton and he graduated Valedictorian from Moapa Valley High School. He and Tresa moved to St. Louis, Missouri where Raoul attended and graduated from Washington University Dental School. They then settled in Las Vegas to raise their family and Raoul built his dental practice.
He was a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed serving in many different callings over the years, including bishoprics and with the young men. His favorite calling was as Scoutmaster. Raoul loved serving others.
Raoul enjoyed playing golf, especially with family and friends.
He is survived by his wife, Tresa of Las Vegas; two sons and one daughter; Scott (Terry) Leavitt, Diana Taylor both of Las Vegas and Brian (Kara) Leavitt of Salt Lake City, UT; 15 grandchildren and 16 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by their youngest daughter, Laura.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11:00 a.m. at The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints Sun Valley Chapel at 5100 Sun Valley Drive, Las Vegas. A viewing will be held from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. prior to the services. Interment will follow at the Logandale Cemetery.
