Alice Wittfoth
Alice Mary Wittfoth, age 91, passed away Monday, March 2, 2009 in Mesquite, Nevada surrounded by family. She was born in Pipestone, Minnesota to Harry and Della Thomas Filer on July 19, 1917.
Alice spent her childhood in Pipestone and during the depression the family moved to California. She graduated from Petaluma High School in California. After graduation she returned to Pipestone and married Art Wittfoth on January 26, 1938. They later moved back to California where they raised their family. Art passed away January 26, 1964. Alice moved with her daughter to Mesquite in 2002.
Alice enjoyed reading, gardening, jigsaw puzzles, and playing cards. She was an avid reader of The Bible and was a devoted Jehovah's Witness for 65 years. Everywhere she went she touched peoples hearts and she will be greatly missed by those that loved her deeply.
Alice is survived by two daughters children; Floyce Wittfoth of Mesquite, NV, Sally (Dan) Zito of Mesquite, NV, one brother Edward Filer of Naples Florida, five grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband Art Wittfoth and a son Gerald Wittfoth.
