Alan Ray Johnson

August 17, 1945 — July 1, 2016

Alan Ray Johnson, 70, born on August 17, 1945, passed away peacefully in his home on July 1, 2016. Alan was a life-long resident of Mesquite. He was born in Souix Falls, South Dakota. He served our country during the Vietnam War, although he was not able to go over-seas, he proudly served as a Military Police. He helped keep the peace here in the US during a not so peaceful time. Alan loved to hunt and camp. He was always outdoors when he could be. One of Alan's passions was fishing. He could always be found out fishing on Lake Mead or wherever the water was clear and the sun shining. Alan worked in many different fields, but worked for the Water District before he retired. His best buddy for the last few years was his little dog, Petey. He loved that dog and Petey was always wherever Alan was. Alan is survived by two brothers, Oren Johnson of Beaver Dam, AZ and randy Johnson of Arlington, SD. He is loved by many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Lee and Sarafern Johnson, the love of his life, Bonnie, his beloved sister Lori Singer, many aunts and uncles and Petey. Alan will be greatly missed by all that knew him. He was a great man with a big heart and we all will miss him greatly.
