Robert Vincent Jones, 75, passed away on October 20, 2022 in St George Utah. Bob was born on August 1, 1947 in Las Vegas, NV, to Malcom Peter Jones and Mary Marguerite Schmidt. Bob had a love for sports and coaching from a young age. After High School, Bob attended Dixie Jr College and Weber State where he met Barbara Bogh from Centerfield, Utah and quickly married the love of his life November 20, 1971.  They moved to Las Vegas where he received a teaching Degree and later a Master’s Degree from the University of Nevada Las Vegas. In 1980 the family moved to Moapa, Nevada. Bob taught school at Bowler Elementary, Moapa Valley High School and continued teaching Science at W. Mack Lyon Middle School. Bob coached Volleyball, Basketball and Track and field for over 35 years. Bob was very proud of his athletes and students he mentored following their careers after High School. Bob was baptized a member of the Church of Jesus of Latter-day Saints in March 1973.  He immediately began a life devoted to the Gospel of Jesus Christ. He served a ward mission and held many church callings. He and Barbara served 3 Missions together as Senior Missionaries in Yerevan, Armenia, the Mormon Handcart Historic Site in Wyoming, and the Salt Lake City Headquarters FamilySearch Mission, which included time serving at the St. Joseph’s Care Center.

Bob helped to build his home and could fix most everything. He loved to garden. Everywhere he lived he planted a garden. Bob was an avid reader. Family History work became the focus of his life in the last years.  Bob rode over 100 miles a week with his bike group. Above all he loved his family. He was proud of his children. His grandchildren brought him joy and always made him smile.
