Paul Gurney Johnson, age 45, passed away surrounded by his loving family on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 in Las Vegas, Nevada after a valiant year-long battle with lung cancer. He was born May 10, 1976, in Las Vegas, NV to Charles William and Eleanor Law Johnson. On November 28, 1998 he was married and sealed for eternity to Charlene Garvin in the Las Vegas LDS Temple.
Paul lived most of his life in Las Vegas. As a young man, he showed interest in electronics, computers and software. While in high school he was a successful businessman, installing car stereos and home theater hardware. He earned many technical certifications and became an IT Director for several title companies. He later transitioned to data storage and infrastructure product sales as a regional director for Nutanix.
Paul was a devoted member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. As a young man, he served a two-year mission in Portland, Oregon. He was a faithful and stalwart servant as he fulfilled his service to God throughout his life, serving in various callings and teaching his family and all those around him by example.
Paul was an avid golfer. He especially loved his annual trips with his brothers and friends to many well-known golf courses around the US. He loved travel and adventures to create lasting memories with his beautiful wife and children.
We all remember Paul for his ability to brighten your day with his smile and a good laugh. He had a great sense of humor and a love for life. He was an optimist and showed us all this year that no matter what happens you can face life’s toughest battles and greatest fears with faith, hope and a sense of humor.
Most of all, Paul loved family. His wife and kids were the center of his world and his greatest sense of pride and joy.
He is survived by his wife Charlene; three daughters and one son: Allie and Kara both working and attending school in Provo, UT; twins Cooper and Cassidy at home in Las Vegas; his mother, Eleanor Johnson of Las Vegas; six brothers and two sisters: Ted (Debbie); Ruth (Blair) Mummey; Dave (Kathy); Steve (Kim) all of Las Vegas; Jean (Cray) Clark of Newport Beach, CA; Robert (Judith) of San Diego, CA; Mark (Amy) of St. George, UT.
